Best Ice Cream Shops Near Your UTA Student Housing

With summer at its peak, now is the perfect time to share some of our favorite ice cream places near our community of student apartments! Arlington has plenty of delicious ice cream shops to choose from, and many of them are just minutes or even steps from our UTA student housing. If you’ve got a craving for something cold and sweet to cool off from the summer heat, then take a look through this post for some of the best places to satisfy that sweet tooth.

Rolling Ice Rolled Ice Cream

First on our list is a place future residents of our UTA student housing are likely already familiar with. That’s because Rolling Ice is less than a five-minute walk down Cooper St. from our student apartments. Arlington is home to more than one rolled ice cream shop (we’ve got another on this list, in fact), but Rolling Ice stands out for its attractive pastel-colored interior, unique flavors, and Instagrammable results.

Mad Mike’s Ice Cream

Mad Mike’s Ice Cream is a more traditional ice cream shop that can be found a few minutes down West Park Row from our student apartments. With 4.8 stars on Google, it should come as no surprise that Mad Mike’s made our list! Its homemade offerings include apple pie, lemon crunch, and cookie monster, among plenty of others, and you’ll be hard-pressed to find any you don’t love!

Gold Pops Ice Cream

North of us, on East Lamar, Gold Pops Ice Cream is a unique Arlington treat. This popsicle shop uses sorbets, frozen yogurts, and ice creams to make their delicious popsicles and ice-cream-filled donuts, all of which are the perfect refreshment for a hot summer day. For an unconventional ice cream experience, try their avocado pop, or stick with something more familiar and try their strawberry-mango sorbet pop!

Iceland Ice Cream

Another of Arlington’s rolled ice cream offerings, Iceland Ice Cream is a bit further south from our UTA student apartments, across the street from the Parks Mall. You’ll find some similar offerings here to those at Rolling Ice, but with a bit more emphasis on fresh fruit toppings and tons of customizable flavors.

La Nueva Michoacana Ice Cream Parlor

East from 848 Mitchell along East Park Row, you’ll find La Nueva Michoacana Ice Cream Parlor. If you’re craving a Mexican-style ice cream experience, this is one of the best places in town for that! With affordable prices, great service, and a ton of Mexican-style treats to choose from, this ice cream parlor is well worth a visit.
