We love being able to provide full furnishings for every resident of our student apartments. Arlington students living at our UTA student housing come to our community with a wide range of backgrounds and varying amounts of resources to help them live comfortably while they’re at school. At 848 Mitchell, though, the essential furnishings are included, so no matter who you are, you don’t have to deal with the added stress and complexity of furnishing an entire apartment yourself. After all, students have enough stress to worry about!

When you’re living in a fully-furnished apartment, it doesn’t have to feel like a cookie cutter living space that isn’t truly your own! While having all the essentials reduces the burden of moving into an apartment, it doesn’t have to limit your creativity or personality while you live in our UTA student housing! Looking for inspiration as you decorate your student apartment to make it your own? These simple tips can help with that!

Art, Photos, and other Memorabilia

This is the most obvious way in which you’ll make your space your own. Adorning your dresser with framed photos, displaying a cork board of beloved memorabilia, or adorning your walls with posters, artwork, or temporary wall decals will make your space feel uniquely yours. There are lots of easy-to-find temporary mounting products for lightweight wall art, and removable wall decals give you the feeling of having a fun mural on your wall without having to paint over it when you move out.

These decorations are most at home in your private bedroom, but may also be applicable to the shared spaces of our UTA student housing. Just make sure you and your apartment-mates have explicitly agreed to mount that painting or apply that wall decal before you go making design decisions for spaces you share!

Unique Bedding

Bringing in your own pillows, sheets, comforters, or duvet covers can transform the look and feel of your bedroom. A fluffy, colorful duvet cover is particularly useful in crafting a comfy bed that feels like your own, is easy to clean, and inviting to sleep in at night. An arrangement of unique pillows can easily add personality and coziness. A cozy blanket folded at the foot of your bed can double as decoration and extra warmth when the weather gets colder.

Rugs, Curtains, and Other Linens

In both private and shared spaces, fabrics can serve as both function and decoration. A patterned area rug can add character to a living room, while a doormat can welcome people into your apartment and help keep your floors clean. Towels in your favorite color can provide decoration for your private bathroom while also serving their functional purpose, and the same goes for dish towels in the kitchen. Window and shower curtains can likewise perform double duty as decor while ensuring your privacy and blocking out any unwanted light from outside (when you’ve been up late and want to sleep in, for example).

That’s it for our decorating tips! We hope you’ll be inspired to bring your own unique touch to your fully-furnished student apartments.
